As we continue to celebrate Black Excellence at Minding My Business, we introduce you to our next highlighted Unsung Hero and we are honored to do so.

With over 20 years in ministry and 13 years in mentorship and leadership, Orlando Vick ministers the preached word of God, serves as a transformative consultant and powerful motivator for leaders worldwide. His purpose is to serve others by helping individuals, youth to adults, establish healthy coping skills and strategies to resolve their traumas and excel in life. He fosters healthy environments inclusive of emotional and social support, cultivates resilience, and creates impactful working strategies. Orlando uses his experience in mental health and music psycho- therapy to successfully develop and enhance the self-confidence of individuals through empowerment and establishing transformative programs in schools and churches across the globe.

By focusing on Music Psychotherapy and Mental Health, Orlando has been able to gain significant experience in mentoring individuals through their healing process. Orlando leverages his sphere of influence in efforts to combat the mental health challenges that continue to plague minority communities across the country. In January 2023, Orlando established the non – profit, mental health organization Wounds Healed Out Loud (WHOL). WHOL provides therapy and support to individuals who face personal challenges in life by embracing their gifts and telling their truth through various avenues, while creating a global platform of healing. WHOL impacts the lives of diverse groups and communities through its efforts to help restore troubled minds in a mentoring experience that supports the mind, body, and soul.

Before founding Wounds Healed Out Loud, Orlando facilitated programs in prisons, mentored in academic institutions including Berklee Music College and empowered many through motivational speaking around and outside the US. Orlando’s influence extends beyond motivational speaking. As a renowned music producer, vocal arranger, and songwriter, Orlando has left an indelible mark on the music industry through his collaborations with gospel and secular superstars including Kirk Franklin, Vashawn Mitchell, Anthony Brown, Todd Dulaney and Lonnie Hunter. In addition to his remarkable achievements, Orlando hosts a captivating podcast, bringing together influential figures to inspire, uplift individuals and ignite their dreams and aspirations. Orlando’s multifaceted endeavors and unwavering dedication allows him to be an awe-inspiring force that motivates and empowers individuals from all walks of life.

Tabitha Brown is an actress and vegan food star who is affectionately known as “America’s mom.” She has provided millions with food for the body and soul through her videos capturing delicious home-cooked vegan recipes and everyday wisdom rooted in love, kindness, and compassion. She has amassed over 4 million followers on her ‘@iamtabithabrown’ Instagram account. Her Facebook page has earned over 2.8 K followers. Similarly, her TikTok account ‘@iamtabithabrown’ has earned over 4.9 million followers and over 87.4 million likes. And her YouTube channel has gained over 757K subscribers. In addition, her ‘@iamTabithaBrown’ Twitter account amassed over 245.2K followers.

Her first book, Feeding the Soul (Because It’s My Business), was a number one New York Times bestseller and won a 2022 NAACP Image Award; she also received the 2021 NAACP Image Award for Outstanding Social Media Personality. Tabitha can be seen as the host on Food Network’s It’s CompliPlated; on her YouTube children’s series, Tab Time that was nominated for 2 Emmy’s in December,2022, on her show All Love on the Ellen Digital Network; and on season four of Showtime’s The Chi. A successful businesswoman, she has a line of products with Target; a haircare line, Donna’s Recipe which is on the shelves across the US in the beaty chain Ulta; a partnership with Orro plant-based drinks; and a spice blend with McCormick. Born and raised in Eden, North Carolina, she now lives in Los Angeles with her family and dog.

We are honored to highlight our next unsung (s)hero, Ashle Renee, this musical jewel, born and raised in Hartford, Connecticut. With her music she communicates her love for Christ to the World. She has a unique approach to share her music using inspiration from other cultures, it makes you fall in love with the gospel all over again. You have never heard gospel music presented in this manner, it is a breath of fresh air, you will be moved, and the Lord glorified. Ashle does not want the music to overshadow Christ. In every area of her life, Ashle wants to exalt Christ. Ashle attends the El Bethel Community Cathedral under the shepherd, Bishop Joseph N. Roberts, Jr. We want to help her to do this by highlighting this beautiful vessel of God. Treat yourself to her body of work.
